Most succulents thrive near a sunny window but away from harsh direct afternoon sun, which can scorch leaves. A south- or east-facing sill is ideal.
Soak the soil fully, then let it dry out completely before watering again — usually every 2–3 weeks. Overwatering is the number one killer of succulents.
Never let roots sit in soggy soil. Use a cactus mix or add perlite to regular potting mix. Make sure your pot has a drainage hole.
Gently pull away any dried or shrivelled bottom leaves. This keeps the plant tidy and stops pests from hiding in the debris.
